Eliminating Tool Pullout in Titanium Milling

Ceratizit’s executive director of technology and solutions, Mark Blosser, has been selected to present at Siemens Realize Live conference in Las Vegas, Nevada, June 12-15, 2023. Siemens’ conference focuses on advances and best practices in digital transformation.

Blosser has four decades of professional experience in the manufacturing industry. In his current leadership position with Ceratizit, Blosser oversees high level, complex projects that tungsten carbide inserts help customers optimize and streamline their operations.

Blosser’s curriculum spotlights the symbiotic relationship between tooling and software in advancing manufacturing’s core applications. Centered on Ceratizit’s High Dynamic Turning (HDT) process with the company’s FreeTurn tools, Blosser will inform conference attendees on turning operations.

Ceratizit’s HDT and FreeTurn work in concert with Siemens NX CAM software to combine all traditional operations — roughing, finishing, APKT Insert contour turning, face turning and longitudinal turning — in one tool. The flexible approach angle of the tool enables multiple machining possibilities, reducing the time invested in set up and accelerating machine utilization. According to Ceratizit, combining FreeTurn’s capabilities with HDT technology and programming can cut machining time by up to 25%.
